Can chemistry help us trap harmful molecules inside the body — and remove them safely? Join us for a general lecture by Professor Lyle Isaacs, a leading chemist and Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS), Tel Aviv University.
Prof. Isaacs is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, College Park (USA). Prof. Isaacs is a well-known supramolecular chemist and a world-leader in the field of cucurbit[n]urils (CB[n]) molecular containers.
In this lecture, he will explore the design and development of supramolecular hosts that function as in vivo sequestrants — compounds that can bind and neutralize harmful substances inside the human body, with promising applications in medicine and drug detoxification.
